Known for the nearby herd of buffalo often visible during a drive west on Interstate 70 from Denver, CO is Genesee Park. Bisected by the interstate, this park has hiking trails on each side of the highway, with the southern section centered around trails leading up to the 8,284ft Genesee Mountain. The 9.5-mile Beaver Brook Trail on the north side of the highway leads all the way east to Lookout Mountain high above Golden, CO.
