Just a few miles north of Ridgway, CO in the southwestern portion of the state is the Ridgway Reservoir and Ridgway State Park. This park at the edge of the San Juan Mountains is centered on the 5-mile-long reservoir with a few campgrounds along its eastern shore. There are a number of scenic hikes - 14 miles worth - that connect the various campgrounds and meander through them, all with the beautiful backdrop of the mountains and lake. In addition to camping and hiking, visitors are attracted to water-based recreation activities such as fishing, boating and swimming. This is a fee area.
