A short drive northwest of Longmont, CO will take one to the Ron Stewart Preserve at Rabbit Mountain: the easternmost point of the foothills in Boulder County and a small trail system to explore them. This 2,871-acre property is an area of sweeping grasslands and shrublands as the plains to the east slowly give way to the mountains to the west. This land was acquired by Boulder County in 1984 and will be managed for preservation and recreation for generations to come.
