A short drive northwest of Longmont, CO will take one to the Ron Stewart Preserve at Rabbit Mountain: the easternmost point of the foothills in Boulder County and a small trail system to explore them. This 2,871-acre property is an area of sweeping grasslands and shrublands as the plains to the east slowly give way to the mountains to the west.
