On the west side of the Pikes Peak area just south of Mueller State Park is the 6,980-acre Dome Rock State Wildlife Area with a wide array of hiking trails and loops throughout. Please note that as of July of 2020, a valid hunting or fishing license is required for everyone 18 years old or older access a Colorado State Wildlife Area. This area is a prime calving ground for bighorn sheep, so always check ahead for seasonal closures especially in the spring.
