Located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains southwest of Boulder, CO, Walk Ranch Open Space has a trail system that explores the historic Walker Ranch, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a cultural landscape. This 2,880-acre hiking area is known for its 7.75-mile loop trail traversing a variety of habitats and the old Walker Ranch itself at the north end of the loop. The homestead consists of the original buildings from the 1880s (except a restored ranch house) built by settler James Walker from Missouri.
