Colorado

A short drive southeast of Delta, CO is the Sweitzer Lake State Park. Known as a water sports destination (with only one hiking trail following the northeast lake shore) for boating and fishing, the land for the Sweitzer Lake State Park was donated by the Morgan Sweitzer family in 1953 with the 137-acre lake itself having been created for the sole purpose of recreation. This is a day use area with no camping facilities and is a fee area.
