8 miles north of Rifle, CO is the Rifle Gap Reservoir - a 360 surface acre reservoir at the foot of the Grand Hogback - and the Rifle Gap State Park. There are no hiking areas in this state park, but visitors are to the variety of water sports recreation opportunities including boating, fishing, waterskiing and swimming. This is a fee area.
