12 miles north of Rifle, CO is the small Rifle Falls State Park. Named for a series of falls located in a lush area of greenery, visitors come for picnicking and camping, but there are only a couple short trails for hikers to explore the area - the Squirrel Trail, Bobcat Trail and Coyote Trail. This is a fee area.
