Colorado

While the Barr Trail on the east side fourteener Pikes Peak is the busiest route, many choose to approach Pikes Peak from the west side via the Devils Playground Trail that leaves from the Crags Trailhead and campground. The Crags trailhead sits at about 10,000ft elevation, making for a less strenuous route to the summit than the Barr Trail with only 4,000ft of elevation gain or so. In addition to the summit route, the Crags area has a number of other trails leading to the crags for which the area is named as well as a trail to Raspberry Mountain accessed from a trailhead just north of the Crags campground.
