In the Front Range foothills looming over Golden, CO is Lookout Mountain (elevation 7,377ft), used historically by Ute Indians as a lookout point for the area. One of the central attractions of the area is the grave of Buffalo Bill and nearby museum, but there is also a small network of hiking trails for those looking for some short walks through the forested hills in the area.
