Colorado

Grays Peak (14,270ft) and Torreys Peak (14,267ft) are two of the most heavily used 14er peaks in Colorado due to their close proximity to Denver and the Front Range cities as well as their status as 'beginner' 14ers. The fact that their summits are separated by only 2/3 of a mile also allows hikers to 'bag' two fourteeners in a single day. The summit of Grays Peak also represents the highest point on the Continental Divide Trail which goes up and over this area. If visiting this area on a warm Colorado summer day, one can expect lots of crowds, so plan accordingly.
