Colorado

About midway between Jefferson, CO and Fairplay, CO along the US Hwy 285 in South Park lies the small town of Como at the edge of the Pike National Forest. Following the Boreas Pass Road north from Como (elevation 9,800ft) towards Boreas Pass (elevation 11,481ft, formerly known as Breckenridge Pass) allows access to the Gold Dust Trail that winds all the way from Como up to just below the pass itself. At the summit of the pass are a few short trails leading even higher into the mountains to the east and west.
