The Nelson Ranch and Sharptail Ridge Open Space areas are located right next to Roxborough State Park south of Denver, CO and west of Sedalia, CO. The trails in these areas provide loop options through the shrubs and pine trees along the hogback formations and meadows in the area. The Ringtail Trail also goes deep into the Pike National Forest connecting eventually to the Indian Creek Trail and the Indian Creek Trailhead along Pine Creek Rd (Co Rd 67). Dogs and Bicycles are both prohibited in these areas as this is a regionally-important significant movement corridor for wildlife. This area also closes for hunting season.
