Due west of Loveland, CO inside the Front Range foothills lies the 100-acre Pinewood Reservoir and Ramsay-Shockey Open Space. Mostly visited for the water recreation opportunities of fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking, etc. on Pinewood Reservoir, there is also the opportunity for camping and hiking along a small 5-mile trail system running along the western shore of the reservoir and through the adjacent Ramsay-Shockey Open Space on the west. This is a fee area that requires permits for entrance and camping, and no motorized watercraft are allowed.
