A short drive north of Steamboat Springs, CO right along the border of the Routt National Forest in the Park Range mountains is Pearl Lake State Park. This small park attracts visitors primarily for fishing, paddleboarding and camping, but there is a hiking trail - the Pearl Lake Connection Trail - that leads down to the dam at the south end of the lake and further south into the Routt National Forest. This is a fee area.
