Colorado

On the western outskirts of Golden, CO lies the foothills mountain park Mount Galbraith Park. The 4.6 miles of trails in this 800-acre are for hikers only, so mountain bikers must leave their bikes at home to visit this park. The trails are steep and rocky, but visitors are rewarded with spectacular views of Golden to the east and the high peaks of the Continental Divide to the west. The trail system centers on the namesake peak of the park Mount Galbraith (7,247ft elevation), and although no trails visit the summit, a 1.6-mile loop trail does encircle it at the top of the park.
