On the west shores of Horsetooth Reservoir near Fort Collins, CO is Lory State Park, a 2,500-acre area of forested foothills covered in more than 26 miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails. With various loop options, one can take as short or as long of a hike as desired, and there are backcountry camping spots available. On the east side of the park, a number of trailheads access the west shore of Horsetooth Reservoir where visitors can hand-launch kayaks, canoes or rafts for a day on the water. This is a fee area.
