The area around the Copper Mountain Ski Resort has hiking trails leading into the Eagles Nest Wilderness to the North, the Tenmile Range to the east and along a stretch of the Colorado Trail and Continental Divide Trail (concurrent) to the southwest. On the drive along Hwy 91 south of Copper mountain are a number of day hikes such as Mayflower Gulch and Clinton Gulch Reservoir before reaching Fremont Pass and the Climax Molybdenum Mine.
